THE LINK ELECTS OFFICERS

During their recent monthly Board of Directors meeting, The Link elected new officers. Pictured left to right (seated) are President Karen Bales, Secretary Tina Kavanaugh, & Vice President Ed Herrell. Standing left to right are Roy Cupp (outgoing president), Treasurer Connie Chandler, & Director Mark McCoskey. In addition to amending the 2007 budget, a strategic planning discussion regarding Link programs followed.

The Link's programs include: BASE (after school child care), Community Learning Center, Computer Certification Classes (IC3), Driver Education, Healthcare classes (CNA & QMA), Leadership Fayette County, Safesitter Babysitting Training, Toastmaster's Club, Union County Community Education, Whitewater Adult Literacy Coalition, and Summer Youth Enrichment and Career Education classes (including Summer Library and the Jason Project).

    Highlights of The Link Board Meeting ~ 6/14/07
    • Minutes of April 19th were approved.
    • Financial reports of March, April, and May were approved.
    • New officers were elected:

    • It was decided that we would have a Fair Booth this year.
    • James Small has been hired by The Link to work as the Educational Coordinator for our new 21st Century Grant with the BASE program.
    • The staff reported that summer programs are going smoothly:

    Maplewood Summer Library ~ Midge Rose, Director
    Grandview Summer Library ~ Joy Jackson, Director
    Frazee Summer Library ~ Pat Marcum, Director
    The Jason Project ~ 50 registered and a waiting list
    Driver Education in 6 school corporations

     
    • Come and see us at the Fayette Co. Free Fair ~ we will have a booth.
    • Our strategic plan is progressing very well ~ we will be discussiong the Community Learning Center in July and the BASE program in August.
